[Happy news! 📚] I was pleased to receive copies of Shobunsha's "Shimane's Instruction Manual" and "Mie's Instruction Manual," as they have been **scheduled for a reprint!**thank you! The "Instruction Manual" series is irresistible for map and geography enthusiasts. More than just a tourist guide, this book offers an interesting perspective of **"interpreting the region from a map"**, making it a book that will make you want to delve deeper. "Why was this road built?" "How has topography influenced culture and lifestyle?" This will especially appeal to those who enjoy that kind of "perspective on geography." At Kuso Chizu (Imaginary Maps), you can freely read these geography and atlas books in the store. 📖 Enjoy a café experience while feeling like you're traveling to a region that interests you. *These "Shimane Instruction Manuals" and "Mie Instruction Manuals" are for in-store viewing only and are not for sale. Meanwhile, "Tokyo's User Manual" and "Chiba's User Manual" are available in stores! If you're interested, please ask a staff member. Another way to enjoy this is by reading "I want to read the instruction manual for this prefecture!" 😊 #GeographyLover #MapLover #InstructionManual #GeographyBookCafe #ImaginaryMap #KomazawaUniversity #CafeWithBooks #GeographyObsessed #PrefectureLover

📚【Nostalgic! But the world of 'Shonen Asahi Nenkan' is even more addictive for adults】📚 The city population rankings for 1968 (Showa 43), which unexpectedly received a huge response on X yesterday, are now available. Actually, the source of the idea was a Showa-era "Shonen Asahi Yearbook" that we have on our bookshelf! Although it's titled "For Boys," this book might actually appeal more to adult geography and statistics enthusiasts if read today. As I was looking at it... 🗾 Osaka City is in its "Greater Osaka" era with a population exceeding 3 million. 🗾 Yokohama City was still in the "10-ward" era (it now has 18 wards!) 🗾 The ranking of cities within Chiba Prefecture was completely different back then. 🗾 That city, that city, that city, which was once a "metropolis" 🗾 This was before the Heisei-era municipal mergers, and now includes names of cities and towns that no longer exist. And so on, the things to point out and the discoveries to make just keep coming. "Just looking at old population rankings is fun." "Looking at atlases and statistics makes time fly by." "I want to feel the energy of a city from the Showa era." This bookshelf is quite dangerous (?) for people like that 😂 While younger generations may be more familiar with the name "Asahi Junior Learning Yearbook," this lineage actually continues to this day. Thank you so much to everyone who responded! We'll also be unearthing interesting statistics and materials that make maps more fun! ✨ 📍Geography-themed book cafe: Fantasy Maps 4-minute walk from Komazawa University Station You are free to browse the books in the store.A must-read for statistics, population, and map enthusiasts! 📖 #GeographyLover #MapLover #StatisticsLover #ShowaRetro #UrbanGeography "What was your hometown's ranking in the past?"
