Last Tuesday, I went to Tokyo for my first TV show recording. The venue is NHK Hall, and the program is "Utacon". I've been applying to attend the Kohaku Uta Gassen (Red and White Song Contest) for years, but I've never won a ticket."Since I'm living in Tokyo, I really wanted to enter NHK Hall at least once," so I kept applying, and this time I finally won the lottery. The Kumamoto earthquake occurred before the show began that day.The live broadcast was canceled and changed to a pre-recorded segment.Nevertheless, the program proceeded according to schedule, creating a somewhat special atmosphere, like a "pseudo-live broadcast." My seat was in the second row of the third floor. The view of NHK Hall from the audience seats is exactly the same as the familiar sights seen on television. But in reality, the stage was surprisingly compact, which made me realize that "TV really does make things look bigger than they are." The lineup is spectacular, spanning generations, including Masashi Sada, Judy Ongg, Ikuzo Yoshi, Misato Watanabe, Arisa Mizuki, Hitomi Shimatani, and even ILLIT. What particularly impressed me was Judy Ongg's performance of "Miserarete" (Fascinated).Seeing that huge, peacock-feather-like costume again, which I remember being amazed by as a child during the 1979 Kohaku Uta Gassen, brought back a flood of memories from 47 years ago. Also, in "Snow Country," the confetti that appears to fill the entire screen on television is actually only visible from the audience's perspective, only in the center of the stage. It was also interesting to see firsthand the ingenious production techniques unique to television. The recording session went by in a flash, lasting just under an hour. It was a truly precious day, as I was finally able to enter NHK Hall, a place I'd always dreamed of visiting, and experience firsthand how television programs are made. My next goal is... to win tickets to the Kohaku Uta Gassen (Red and White Song Contest)! #Utacon #NHK Hall #NHK #MusicProgram #TVlover TV program recording Public recording Kohaku Uta Gassen (Red and White Song Contest) Behind the scenes of television Television production Showa-era popular songs I want to connect with people who love music.
